RateRadar is one of our biggest in-house projects here at Maple Synapse. We set out to make reviews more meaningful. Instead of just sharing opinions with no real benefit, users now earn rewards every time they leave a review for their favourite merchants, whether it’s points, special deals, or discounts. It’s a win for customers and businesses alike. We’ve worked with businesses all across Canada, in major cities, to help them build stronger connections with their customers through more authentic feedback.

The Challenge:

Blending Two Worlds Without Losing Identity

Fusion restaurants often struggle to strike the right balance—they risk either diluting authenticity or overwhelming diners with unfamiliar flavours. Yezo’s challenge was not just combining Thai and Japanese cuisines, but doing so in a way that felt natural and intentional. Isan food is bold, rustic, and deeply loved in Thailand, but its strong, funky flavours can be intense for those unfamiliar. Yezo needed a brand and digital presence that communicated its unique culinary vision—where contrast creates harmony, and Thai food takes center stage with thoughtful Japanese nuances.

Finding Balance Through Design and Storytelling

Just as Yezo’s menu thrives on contrast, we built a visual identity that reflects this interplay of bold and subtle. The website design is clean yet dynamic, balancing modern minimalism with the raw energy of Thai street food culture. Inspired by Yezo’s culinary approach, we used a mix of warm, earthy tones and sleek Japanese-inspired typography to create a digital space that feels both refined and full of character.

Through engaging storytelling, we highlighted Yezo’s philosophy—that balance isn’t just about blending flavours but about letting them enhance each other. Just like miso and fermented fish sauce, or yuzu cutting through grilled meats, we made sure Yezo’s brand identity felt exciting and unexpected. The website now serves as more than just a menu—it’s an invitation to experience a cuisine that’s both familiar and entirely new.
